So, we're in!!!  The new shop has been trading for a week and so far, so very, very good!  Much thanks to all the great folk of Beaminster who have been nothing short of fantastic in their response to our move.  The layout and functionality of the shop will change as we settle in but so far we're happy with the way things look and work.  The stock that we have carefuly chosen always deserved a great space in which to shine, and now it has one.  So far we've only added some basketware from Bangladesh (courtesy of the lovely people at Maison Bengal, a small fairtrade company run by the knowledgeble and passionate Sheenagh) but new customers have been surprised by the breadth of ethical and ecologically-sound stock that we carry.

We started green drawers as a market stall in 2007 and moved into the shop in July 2008.  The idea was to present ecologically and ethically sound well-designed items that people need on a day-to-day basis.  The stock has grown organically (pardon the pun) over time, and now includes a wide range of Ecover products various kitchen essentials such as FSC latex rubber gloves; organic cotton loo rolls right through to re-discovered items of furniture.  We are also steadily expanding our line of baby and children's clothes which are hugely popular in the Beaminster shop.  A lot of items are made on the premises; children's knitwear and clothing made from vintage fabrics, along with cushions and throws.  Please check in regularly to see what's new in.
